Rooms & Community

As a lunchtimers.com successor, scribble.pub is built primarily for real-time collaboration rather than single-user drawing. This page explains how rooms work, and the community rules for the canvas and chat.

Rooms

All collaborative drawing on scribble.pub happens in shared rooms. You can see the list of active rooms at the top-right corner of the interface, and you can open full list of rooms by clicking the Show all rooms button.

Main Room

The /main room is where we aim to sustain a positive atmosphere for collaborative artwork. All users can view and chat here, but drawing access is restricted to approved members to maintain quality and prevent vandalism.

Use its chat to ask general questions about the platform and suggest improvements.

Its clearing is performed by moderators on a needs basis.

Other rooms

  • /sandbox – A public room open to everyone. It is a great place to start drawing, test ideas, and practice. Although public, this room is heavily monitored to prevent inappropriate content.

  • /chaos – Another public room with relaxed rules where anyone can draw. It's often busy, experimental, and unpredictable.

Custom Rooms

Currently, creating custom rooms is not publicly available. We are testing this functionality with a selected group of users and plan to roll it out to everyone in the future.

Canvas and chat rules

In general, we aim for a positive atmosphere, but rules differ significantly between rooms. The /main chat is strictly moderated to prevent spam and inappropriate content, while /sandbox and /chaos allow more freedom.

In all rooms, respect the universal rules outlined below:

  • No hate content: Hate content is strictly prohibited. This includes any language or imagery that promotes discrimination, harassment, or violence based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
  • No harassment: Do not engage in behavior that is intended to intimidate, offend, or distress others. Avoid personal attacks, insults, name-calling, and any form of bullying.
  • No spam: Do not post excessive messages, don't use scripts or bots.
  • Respect moderators: Moderators are here to ensure a positive atmosphere. Please cooperate with their decisions and directions.
